Thesis
Sealed trading card product is a structurally supply-constrained asset. Print runs are fixed at source, allocation is decided in Japan, and secondary pricing is set by scarcity rather than demand elasticity.
Southeast Asia is the fastest-growing consumption block in the category and the least institutionalised. Distribution sits with informal resellers with no allocation security, no capital access and no data.
The winner is not the largest storefront. It is whoever controls allocation upstream and aggregates the reseller layer downstream. That is the position Opus Cards is built to hold.
Why Opus
We own the allocation, not the arbitrage
Direct Japan and SEA supply lines let us buy at case level and set the floor, while the rest of the market fights over singles at retail-plus. Allocation is the scarce asset in this category — not inventory, not storefronts.
Demand is captured before inventory is bought
Every drop opens as an interest board and a preorder waitlist. We know committed units, country mix and price tolerance before a purchase order is placed. Working capital follows verified demand, not forecasts.
A verified reseller network is a distribution moat
Each verified partner is a shelf we do not pay rent on. Five countries, one allocation engine, zero fixed retail cost — the network compounds while the cost base stays flat.
Operating model
Market position
Every unit we list is benchmarked live against SNKRDUNK, Yuyutei and eBay last-sold. We hold a structural landed-cost advantage from case-level buying and consolidated freight, and we price beneath the regional benchmark by design — not by discounting margin, but by owning a shorter chain.
The result is a defensible spread: collectors pay below the reference market, partners resell above their cost, and Opus captures the difference between allocation price and regional clearing price.
Governance & disclosure
Unit economics, cohort sell-through, allocation agreements and capitalisation are released under NDA to qualified counterparties only. Opus Cards is a Malaysian entity headquartered in Kuala Lumpur.
